Seven time super bowl champion Tom Brady announces his retirement from NFL

One of the greatest American football quarterback, Tom Brady at the age of 42 announced his retirement from NFL through his social media on Tuesday. He has finished his 22nd season in the NFL and second with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

During his 22 year old career, Brady has won seven super bowl titles- six with the New England Patriots and one with his the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady retires with more Super Bowls (7) than any other franchise. He played and won more regular season games in his career than any other quarterback.

He wrote, “This is difficult for me to write but here it goes. I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”  

He thanked his team Tampa Bay Buccaneers, teammate and coach and owner Glazer family. He thanked his parents and his wife who supported throughout his wonderful career.  He also thanked his old team New England Patriots quoting statement from Robert Kraft, CEO of the New England Patriots.
